Election

november 2, 2008

The 2008 election is without a doubt the greatest election in U.S. history: the country is embroiled in a war with an enemy that cannot be pinned to one specific area, and you had a woman, an African-American (or black if you ask my friend Kimya), and a war hero – all running for the highest office. Just savor the thought!

A national newspaper proudly reported that McCain is disliked in his own home town. Well, not quite true – the reporters were visiting Sedona, a bastion of granola eating, monkey touching, democratic sissies and New Age eggheads who have migrated there from all over the country (because of the scenery and the ”positive energies”). The McCains happen to own property there (it’s an awfully pretty area), but that doesn’t make it their ”home town.”

I was adament that the U.S should NOT invade Iraq. I believe I have been proven right more than once. However, if the U.S. were to pull their troops out tomorrow without finishing the job, the ”terrorists” in Iraq will call it as a win in their favour, and they will take the fight to the U.S. Therefore I believe that the U.S. require a strong president who won’t succumb to the pleas to end the war in Iraq before the country can be truly handed over to the Iraqis. Unfortunately I believe Obama will pull the troops out too soon, which will be a huge mistake. Also, I’m not too fond of the gunlaws the democrats will enact (and re-enact – hello Brady Bill II) if/when they come to power again.
